I’m a proud Mesa Public Schools graduate and the parent of five kids in three schools in the District.
Public schools serve as the center of our communities. They’re where we join together with other families for football games, band concerts and graduations. We celebrate our kids and their growth, showing that we value education, children and community. Quality schools are a big part of what makes Mesa so great. It’s the reason my family decided to raise our children here. I want it to continue to be great for my kids and my grandkids. Quality schools help protect your property values and reduce crime. Mesa Public Schools are a major reason we enjoy such a safe, family-friendly community.
I’ve been involved in education for the past several years. I was talking with my 16-year-old son about things I’m passionate about. He told me, “Mom, my generation isn’t going to take your generation seriously unless you start to get involved.” That really hit hard. I realized he was right, and there was more that I could do to help our community. I am passionate about quality and innovation in education. I believe we need to be preparing our students for the careers of the future and strengthening schools to strengthen our communities.
